“Due to the increased price of electricity, it was time to look at putting a solar PV system in our house.
After scrolling through Google I was confused about who to use as there were so many companies offering all different systems that I put the idea on the back burner. Two months later S S Electrical were doing some commercial wiring for me at a new office and they mentioned they were very busy installing solar PV. Knowing their quality and precision of work at competitive prices, I asked for a price and later instructed them for a 6kw system with a 12kw battery. The make of the system was Foxes which is a very neat good quality product with a long guarantee and a good usable app.
The 15 panels were installed in 4 hours and the battery, inverter and all necessary wiring took a day. The lads were polite and respectful and the installation was well thought out and super neat.
Since having the system installed in December, one of the worst months for solar, I was getting up to 3kw per hour, and now in February 4.5kw. During the winter months, they also advised me to charge the batteries at night (cheap rate of 15p per kWh) then if there’s little solar gain the battery will feed it during the day.
My electric bill has halved in the winter so I’m looking forward to the summer months.
